About WiDS Athens

The Women in Data Science (WiDS) Athens Forum is a free annual conference on disruptive innovation. It is focused on women-led, data-driven digital transformation and value engineering, aiming to become a unique meeting point for industry experts, academics and public sector officials. To be held online for 2021, WiDS Athens is an independent event that is organized by:
as part of the annual WiDS Worldwide conference organized by Stanford University and an estimated 150+ locations worldwide, which features outstanding women doing outstanding work in the field of data science. All genders are invited to attend all WiDS Worldwide conference events.

Konstadinos Kutsikos is an Assistant Professor of Technology and Innovation Management at the Business School of the University of the Aegean (UotA), Greece. He holds an MBA and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, USA, and an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University, USA. Before joining UotA, Dr. Kutsikos had a 10-year international career balancing academic, industry, and entrepreneurial activities, topped by a Managing Consultant position with PA Consulting Group (part of Jacobs Group, the NYSE-quoted, Fortune-500 firm) in London, UK. Based on this background, Dr. Kutsikos’ current activities are focused on business transformation in the context of organizational innovation (business ecosystems, corporate venturing) and service innovation (service systems, value engineering). Dr. Kutsikos is a mentor at Stanford University and an active member of scientific, professional, and civic groups, including the Academy of Management, the UK Institute of Directors, and the Stanford Club.

Grammati Pantziou received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Patras, Greece, in 1991. She served as Assistant Professor at Dartmouth College and at the University of Central Florida, USA, and as Professor at the Department of Informatics of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece. She is currently a Professor at the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering of the University of West Attica, Greece. Her research interests include algorithmic techniques for optimization problems, parallel and distributed computing, mobile ad-hoc & sensor networks and security and privacy issues in pervasive environments. She has edited 5 books and has co-authored 11 books and book chapters and over 150 research articles in major international journals and conference proceedings. She serves as editor of the Algorithms Journal (MDPI) and the Journal of Cybersecurity and Privacy (MDPI). She has served as associate editor of the Security and Communication Networks Journal (Wiley) and guest-editor of 10 journal special issues in the fields of computing, wireless communications, privacy and security in pervasive and assistive environments and sensors cybersecurity. She has participated as scientific coordinator and key researcher in 29 research projects funded by the European Community, the Greek Government, and the National Science Foundation, USA.
